TSD OFFICER ZAMBERNARDI

ROBERT M. ZAMBERNARDI
Robert was born amongst nineteen thirty-five and raised in Massachusetts city of Sommerville. He was educated at the local high school and enlisted with the US Air Force during the nineteen fifties. Zambernardi joined the CIA’s Photographic Support Branch during nineteen fifty-seven and officials noted his rapid development of quality photography without prior experience. He became an intelligence officer in the the Technical Services Division and was assigned to Mexico City Station by nineteen sixty. During Robert’s Mexico City tenure he deployed agents and conducted photographic surveillance in multiple projects.

His operations targeted the diplomatic compounds held by Russia and Soviet aligned nations to gather intelligence using technological and clandestine means. Reportedly Zambernardi even displayed control over corrupt local mercenaries also serving in the Mexican Federal Police. Amidst nineteen sixty-four Zambernardi returned to Agency headquarters with a specialization in clandestine photography techniques. The next year he was establishing military cover to serve in the Air Force’s Technical Services Group undertaking CIA operations.
