EDMUND PACKARD QUEREAU
He was born in Texas amid nineteen hundred and nine raised by his parents near San Antonio. Edmund graduated from Main Avenue High School and later earned multiple degrees from the University of Texas. He would teach French but subsequently left his continued studies to enlist with the US Army during nineteen forty-one. Quereau was assigned to the Army’s Signal Security Service but eventually was transferred to the Office of Strategic Services. He served the OSS Dakar mission in Senegal and following WWII Edmund joined the Central Intelligence Agency.
During nineteen forty seven he achieved the rank of major and was assigned under State Department cover to the CIA’s Algiers station. While employed by the Agency in the course of the nineteen fifties Quereau continued his military training for ongoing projects at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He later was assigned to operations supporting United States military efforts in Saigon amidst the Vietnam War. Edmund Quereau retired from the Agency in the course of nineteen sixty-five and moved with his wife to the French city of Cannes.
