DAVID SANCHEZ MORALES
He was born in the spring of nineteen twenty-six and his career prior to the Agency included physical education instruction at public schools during the nineteen forties. David subsequently joined the United States Army in nineteen forty-six and studied at multiple colleges. He left the military amongst nineteen fifty-three, one year later he joined the CIA and was part of its Operation PBSUCCESS. Morales was an operations officer assigned to Havana station within Cuba by nineteen fifty-eight. Two years later he went to Miami Station (JMWAVE) and led its counterintelligence efforts targeting the Cuban regime. Amidst early nineteen sixty-three Morales was serving as the Deputy Chief of JMWAVE and officials note he orchestrated several covert and paramilitary operations across the Americas.
The next year he was assigned to the Task Force W unit that conducted paramilitary and sabotage operations against Cuba’s leadership and intelligence community (DGI). He used a following position in the Agency for International Development (AID) for operational cover amidst nineteen sixty-five. Morales would serve the rest of decade supporting oversees Agency paramilitary operations in several nations that included Cuba, Laos, and Vietnam. He was a reported participant in the capture of Che Guevara and overthrowing the Chilean government of Salvador Allende the next decade. The Agency career of David Morales would end in the course of nineteen seventy-five but rumors that he was involved in multiple famous assassinations would persist.
